I’ve been thinking about this topic for quite some time. I’m not sure why, but it has been on my mind lately.

They end up spending more time trying to figure out what their blog should be called than actually writing book reviews and blog posts.

So, here are my thoughts on choosing a good blog name.

  1. Do you want to start a personal blog or do you want to write fiction? If you are going to write fiction, you need to have a catchy title that can stand alone as a book cover. You also need to think about if you want to use your real name or an alias. For example, I started out using my real name, but now I am using my pen name. So, when people google me, they find my fictional characters instead of my real life. This may seem obvious, but many bloggers don’t realize this until they get stuck with a bad blog name.
  2. What genre are you planning to write? If you plan to write romance, you might consider starting out by naming your blog something like “Romance Author” or “Romantic Fiction Author”. But if you plan to write non-fiction, you might want to go with something like “Non-Fiction Author” or “How To Be A Successful Writer”.
  3. Are you planning to write fiction or non-fiction? If you are planning to write fiction, you probably don’t want to use your real first name. Instead, you want to come up with a pen name that sounds cool. For example, I chose the name “Karen Rose” for my author’s website because it sounded like a cool name. My publisher wanted me to keep my last name, so I had to come up with a new one. My publisher suggested “Rose” so I decided to use that name.
  4. Is your blog going to be mostly about books or other topics? If you are going to write about books, you definitely want to make sure that your blog name includes the word “Author” somewhere in it. For example, my blog is named “Book Authors Blog”. In addition, you want to include the word “Blog” somewhere in your blog name. The reason for this is simple: When someone types in Google “book authors blog”, they are likely to see your blog listed at the top of the search results. And if you don’t have any content yet, they won’t even bother clicking through to read your site.
  5. What kind of posts will you be posting? Will you post reviews, interviews, guest posts, etc.? If you are going to post reviews, you definitely want to include the words “reviews” or “critic” somewhere in your name. For example, my review blog is named “Review Critic Reviews”.
  6. What kind of readership do you expect? If you are expecting a lot of traffic from readers looking for information about your favorite authors, you might want to use your author name in your blog name. For example, if you are writing under the pen name Karen Rose, you could call your blog “Karen Rose Books”. However, if you are expecting more casual readers who just want to read your latest novel, then you should choose a name that isn’t too long and doesn’t sound too formal. For example, if your blog is called “The Book Reviewer”, you could shorten it down to “Book Reviewer”. Or if your blog is called, “How To Write Fiction”, you could change it to “Write Fiction”.
  7. What is your budget? If you are thinking about getting a domain name, you might want to spend around $10-$20 per year. Domain names are very important because they are what help people find your blog. So if you decide to buy a domain name, you need to think about how much money you can afford to pay each year.

  9. Do you have an idea for your blog title? Once you know which type of blog you want to create, you can begin brainstorming ideas for your blog title. You can try coming up with different titles until you find one that works well for you.

I’ve been blogging for about five years now and I have to say that it has changed my life. For the better, of course.

It is not easy to find time to write when you are busy with your day job but once you started blogging, things became easier.

When I first started blogging, I didn’t really have a schedule. I would wake up early in the morning and write whatever came to mind.

Sometimes, I would spend hours trying to come up with ideas. But after a few months, I realized that I need to set aside time to write every week.

So, I decided to create a weekly posting schedule. This helped me to stay consistent in terms of quality and quantity of posts.

This also helps me to avoid writer’s block. When I am feeling lazy, I just remind myself that I have a scheduled post coming up and I will write it as soon as possible.

So, what does a good blogging schedule look like?

It depends on the type of blogger you are. Some bloggers prefer to write daily whereas others prefer to write once a week.

Here are some examples:

Daily Bloggers:

Write at least one post per day. That means that you will write more than one post each day.

Weekly Blogger:

Write at least three posts per week.

Monthly Blogger:

Write at least five posts per month.

Yearly Blogger:

Write at least ten posts per year.

The point here is to pick a frequency that works best for you. Don’t feel pressured by any particular number. Just do what feels right for you.

In addition to this, you might consider having a specific topic that you cover each week. You can use these topics to keep yourself focused and motivated.

Also, you can refer back to previous posts and see how they did. Did they perform well? Were they successful? What worked? What didn’t?

I’m a writer. I love books, and I love writing about them. It’s what I do for fun. But it’s also my job. And if you want to be successful in this business, you have to write about the things that interest you.

Don’t expect to write a good post every day. In fact, I recommend that you only write one post per week. That way, you can really enjoy each piece of content that you create. Also, you will be less likely to burn out.

4. Be consistent.

Once you have decided what you want to write about, you have to keep up with it. Don’t fall behind. If you miss a few weeks, no big deal. Just pick up where you left off.

5. Have fun.

This is supposed to be fun, right? So go ahead and have fun with it. After all, isn’t that why we read books in the first place? To escape our daily lives and take a break from reality.

6. Keep learning.

The best way to improve your writing skills is to practice. Read more books. Watch videos. Learn new techniques. Practice makes perfect.

7. Never stop improving.

You might think that once you publish your first article, everything will be easy. But it won’t. Writing is an ongoing process. You will always be learning new things. Always trying to become better.

8. Make sure your work is original.

You may have heard the saying “It’s easier to ask permission than forgiveness.” Well, it applies here too. If you want to use someone else’s ideas, images, etc., make sure that you get their permission first. Otherwise, you could end up getting sued.

9. Remember to be nice.

Writing is a two-way street. You are giving the reader something valuable. They are allowing you to earn money from it. So be respectful. Treat them like they deserve respect.

10. Finally, share your work.

Social media sites are great places to share your content. But unless you’re using them correctly, they won’t bring you any traffic. Here are six tips to get more traffic from social media platforms:

1. Make sure your profile picture is appropriate.

It doesn’t matter how good-looking you are; if your photo isn’t professional quality, no one will click on it. If you use a stock image or a photo taken with your phone, make sure it looks sharp and clear. Otherwise, take another picture.

2. Use hashtags.

Hashtags are keywords that appear after a pound sign (#). For example, “Writing Tips” would show up as #writingtips when someone searches on Twitter. Hashtagging lets people find your tweets easily.
